Overview
Every mile protects a migration. Join this fall fitness challenge supporting Sandhill Cranes and the Cosumnes River Preserve.
Walk. Run. Hike. Bike. Paddle. Every Mile Protects a Migration.
This fall, join the Friends of the Cosumnes River Preserve for Miles for Migration, a virtual fitness and fundraising challenge inspired by one of California's greatest wildlife spectacles—the annual arrival of Sandhill Cranes at the Cosumnes River Preserve.
From October 26 through December 6, you'll choose your own activity, set a personal mileage goal, and invite friends and family to support your journey with flat donations or per-mile pledges. Whether you're walking your neighborhood, hiking your favorite trail, biking scenic backroads, or paddling local waterways, every mile you complete helps protect the habitats that migrating birds depend on.
Funds raised support the Friends of the Cosumnes River Preserve's work to restore habitat, inspire future conservationists through environmental education, support volunteers, and protect one of California's most important wetland ecosystems.
