A Haunted Halloween History
When you walk around Old Town Elk Grove and you feel a slight wind against your cheek and the hairs on the back of your neck stand tall, you may have just experienced a cool California breeze or for those with the spirit of spook in their heart, you may have been visited by the Ghost of Old Town.
The city was founded in 1868 and legend has it that the old downtown area of Elk Grove is said to be visited by a ghostly woman in white who haunts Elk Grove Boulevard. Her sad soul wanders the railroad tracks mourning her purgatory but when looking into her face there is nothing but a black void. Her spirit has been seen walking off along the railroad tracks and then disappearing. We can neither deny nor confirm this legend so don’t take our word for it — see for yourself… if you dare!
