Where Walls Become Stories
Custom Fireside
Cameron “Camer1” Moberg and Sacramento-based artist Ryan Pawn Rhodes blended a nature-inspired design with community pride on their shared mural at Custom Fireside.
Cameron, with a grounded, organic presence brought flowing forms and earthy tones inspired by the outdoors. With more than 20 years of experience, his approach adds a woodsy sense of balance to the piece.
Ryan complimented this with his signature dreamlike style, used bold colors and shifting perspectives to create a space where shapes and scale feel unexpected, yet cohesive. Together, the artists captured the vibrant spirit of Elk Grove.
Prost Beer Hall
Ryan's impact extended beyond his collaboration with Cameron at Custom Fireside. He brought unmistakable energy to Main Street at Prost Beer Hall, transforming the west-facing wall into a vibrant, purple-hued focal point.
Beyond his work on the walls, Cameron also served as a curator for Paint the Grove, helping guide the festival and build meaningful connections between artists and the community.
Also at Prost Beer Hall, Sacramento-based artist Franceska Gamez shares a powerful exploration of womanhood and generational strength. Born in Manila and raised in the Bay Area, her work blends abstract and figurative elements to tell a story through imagery and symbolism. Centered on sisterhood and unity, the mural feels both personal and relatable, emulating a sense of true connection and community pride.
Happy Garden
At Happy Garden, Austin-based muralist Efren Rebugio Jr., known as “ER,” turned the east-facing wall into a collaged burst of movement and color. Inspired by the surrounding community, ER’s detailed imagery highlightsthe presence of individuality and evolution within Main Street's collective story.
Just steps away, Daniel Toledo, known as Mister Toledo, shifts the mood with a work that unfolds like a layered story. Filled with symbolic figures, patterns, and textures, Toledo’s craftsmanship reflects the power of memory and resilience. Rather than revealing itself all at once, the piece encourages viewers to take a closer look, offering a new perspective within each discovered detail.
School of Rock
At School of Rock, Spanish-based artist Bublegum brings his signature “Ornamental Style” to life with impressive detail and craftsmanship, in a piece that perfectly compliments school of rock's mission. A self-taught artist from Galicia, Spain, his work blends natural forms with intricate decorative patterns inspired by traditional Baroque design.
Accents of deep red move intentionally throughout the composition, standing out against a foundation of soft, neutral tones. This contrast not only draws the eye, but echoes the energy and passion associated with music itself: subtle yet powerful. The result is a piece that reflects not only artistic skill, but the spirit of learning, collaboration, and connection that defines the space.
Ocean Fish & Chips
At Ocean Fish & Chips, Orlando-based artist Naomi Haverland turns an everyday Main Street wall into a moment of visual surprise. Drawing from her background in 3D chalk art, Naomi painted an illusion of depth, whereelements appear to lift from the surface and shift with perspective. The result is playful and interactive, complimenting the building and offering an experience that sparks curiosity.
Elk Grove Library
At the Elk Grove Library, Ricky Watts unveils a striking mural installation that transforms the previously simple building into a canvas of color and light. Known for his hard-edge gradient style, he uses bold color transitions and clean lines to create a design that makes each visit feel unique. The mural responds to its surroundings, as light, shadows, and angles shift how the piece is experienced throughout the day. With roots in graffiti and skate culture, Watts brings an edgy, graphic style that feels both modern and nostalgic.
Paint the Grove’s presence continues to shape Historic Main Street, with each mural standing as a reflection of the community that embraced it, turning everyday spaces into meaningful points of connection.
Walking along Main Street today feels less like a stroll and more like an exploration. Whether experiencing these murals for the first time or returning with fresh eyes, Paint the Grove reveals something new around every corner: stories layered into color, culture expressed through form, and a reminder that public art has the power to bring people together in ways that are both unexpected and lasting.
